SIM only on the O2 Business network through us

We supply EE Business and Three Business, and we can also supply business SIM only plans on the O2 Business network, with the plan, data options, contract term and price set out in our quote for your lines.

Lines we supply on the O2 Business network use that network's coverage, so if O2 Business works well where your people are, a SIM only plan through us can keep you on it while you keep your phones and your numbers.

The Forever Group site also has a page on O2 Business SIM only.

What O2 Business publishes about SIM only

The O2 Business online shop gives a useful picture of how SIM only works on its network. It lists:

  • 12 or 24-month contracts: a choice of term for SIM only plans
  • Data options up to unlimited: from small allowances upwards
  • Spend caps: to keep each line's spending under control
  • SIM types: standard, micro and nano SIMs, and eSIM
  • Prices ex VAT: with an annual price rise set out in its terms
  • Checks: orders are subject to status, credit and affordability assessments
  • Keep your number: by requesting a PAC from your existing provider

For the lines we supply on the O2 Business network, your quote sets out the plan, data options, term and price.

Choosing a plan on the O2 Business network

The questions are the same whichever network you choose, and answering them first makes a quote quicker and more accurate:

Voice SIMs, data SIMs and eSIM

Most businesses need more than one kind of SIM, and all of them can sit on the O2 Business network:

  • Voice SIMs for phones: a mobile number with calls, texts and data for each member of staff
  • Data-only SIMs for kit: tablets, laptops, mobile broadband routers and devices in vehicles
  • eSIM for eSIM-capable devices: a digital SIM with no card to post or swap, useful for remote starters and dual SIM phones
  • Physical SIMs for everything else: older phones and devices that do not support eSIM

A data-only SIM in an existing unlocked router or MiFi device can give a temporary site or a pop-up office its own connection, or act as a backup if fixed broadband fails. See mobile broadband SIM only for how that works. For low-data equipment such as payment terminals and trackers, our guide to IoT SIM cards explains what is different about those SIMs.

Which SIM types, sizes and features are available on the plans we supply is confirmed at quote.

When SIM only on the O2 Business network makes sense

SIM only is the right shape of contract when the phones are already sorted. It tends to suit you if:

  • You already own your phones: and want to keep them in service while they do the job well
  • You buy phones outright: through your usual procurement, and want the airtime as a separate, simpler agreement
  • O2 Business coverage works for you: your team already gets good signal where it works, and you want to keep it
  • You want flexible terms: SIM only comes on fixed terms and, on some networks, rolling monthly plans
  • You need data SIMs as well: for tablets, laptops and routers on the same network as your phones

If you need new phones as well, you can buy them separately and refresh them when it suits you; our sister site covers business mobile devices and device management, and our guide to buying business phones separately explains the approach.

Is O2 Business SIM only the right fit for you?

We will check it against your systems and requirements and recommend the right option.

Check coverage before you commit

Coverage is the main reason to choose one network over another. Before you sign, check the O2 Business coverage checker for the places that matter: your offices and sites, the postcodes of staff who work from home, and the routes your mobile staff use most. Look at indoor coverage as well as outdoor, and at 5G if you plan to use it.

Ask your team where their phones struggle today, too. If you are moving from another network, that tells you which locations to check most carefully. Our guide to business SIM only networks explains how to approach the choice, and 5G SIM only for business covers what you need for 5G.

Keeping your numbers

Moving to the O2 Business network does not mean new numbers. Ofcom's switching rules set out the process:

  1. Request a PAC: text PAC to 65075 from the number you want to keep; if there is more than one number on the account, ask your current provider by phone or on its website
  2. Check the PAC: it is valid for 30 days, and your provider must send information about any early termination charges with it
  3. Give the PAC to your new provider: we include it in the order for the plans we supply
  4. Switch: under Ofcom's rules, the new provider must complete the switch within one working day

If you are leaving the O2 Business network and want new numbers, text STAC to 75075 instead. See PAC codes, STAC codes and porting multiple mobile numbers. We can coordinate the timing with you; dates are confirmed at quote.

How we help

We can help you decide whether the O2 Business network is right for your team, and set it up if it is. We can:

  • Check coverage with you: for your sites, staff postcodes and routes
  • Size each line: voice or data, how much data and which caps
  • Quote SIM only plans on the O2 Business network: with the plan and terms set out clearly
  • Plan the move: PAC codes, switch date and SIM or eSIM activation
  • Keep records straight: which SIM is on which device and user

Ask us for a quote. Contact us with the number of lines and where your team works.

How Forever Communications helps with business SIM only

We help UK organisations choose, switch and run business SIM only plans, data SIMs and eSIMs for the phones and devices they already own.

  • Start with what you have: we look at your current contracts, end dates, users, devices and how much data people really use before suggesting anything new
  • More than one network: we supply SIM only plans on EE Business and Three Business, and we can also supply O2 Business and Vodafone Business, so you can choose by coverage where your people work
  • Keep your numbers: we help you plan the move with PAC codes or STAC codes so existing business mobile numbers come with you
  • SIMs for every device: voice SIMs, eSIM SIM only that works with your device management, business data only SIMs for tablets, routers and vehicles, and fleet SIM cards on one account
  • Controls that suit a business: we can help you set up spend caps, bars and user changes through the network's own business tools
