EE Business SIM only at a glance
We supply EE Business SIM only plans. EE Business sells them on the EE Business network for organisations that already have phones, want to keep their numbers, or need SIMs for tablets, laptops and other connected devices. A SIM only plan pays for airtime only, and your phones are bought separately, so you choose when to refresh them.
The range is built from a few pieces:
- Plans for 1-10 employees: SIM only business contracts for small businesses
- Plans for 11+ employees: The Team Plan, The Shared Plan and The Individual Plan
- Phone SIMs and Data SIMs: voice SIMs for handsets, data SIMs for tablets, laptops and mobile broadband
- eSIM: activated remotely, with business and personal numbers possible on one device
- IoT SIM card: a rugged SIM for connected equipment
- Account controls: spend caps, Bill Protector options on the plans for 11+ employees, and the Mobile Manager log in
This page explains the plan types, and we confirm the current plans for your business at quote. The Forever Group site also has a page on EE Business SIM only.
Plans for 1-10 employees
For small businesses, EE Business sells SIM only business contracts for teams of 1-10 employees. They suit a business that already has its phones, or wants to buy them outright, and wants to keep its existing numbers.
Phone SIMs carry calls, texts and data. Data SIMs carry data only, for connected devices such as tablets, laptops and mobile broadband. Most small teams need a mix: a phone SIM for each person and a Data SIM for any tablet or router that needs its own connection.
The choice within the small business range comes down to how much data each person needs and which features matter to you, and spend caps let you set limits on data, calls and roaming. We can talk that through with you and confirm the current plans at quote. Our guide to SIM only for small businesses covers the wider questions for teams of this size, and the Forever Group site has more on EE Business for small businesses.
Plans for 11+ employees: The Team, Shared and Individual Plans
For medium and large organisations, EE Business offers three SIM only plan types. The difference is how data is allocated and billed:
| EE Business plan | How data works | How billing works | Designed for |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Team Plan | A shared data pot that flexes as the number of users changes | Automated quarterly usage reviews move the account to the right plan | Organisations that are growing or whose staff numbers change |
| The Shared Plan | Data shared among all the users on the account, with data caps you can set | A fixed monthly bill | Organisations that want a predictable budget |
| The Individual Plan | A set allowance for each team member, decided by you | Subscriber-level billing for clearer cost insight | Organisations that want ringfenced data per person, including VIP users |
Which one fits depends on how evenly your team uses data and how much you value a fixed bill against per-person control. A team where a few people use most of the data often suits a shared approach; a team where some users need tightly managed allowances may suit The Individual Plan. Our guide to business SIM only plans explains shared and individual data in more detail.
We can look at your current usage with you and help you choose the plan type before you commit. The plan details and terms are confirmed at quote.

Phone SIMs, Data SIMs, eSIM and the IoT SIM card
EE Business offers several kinds of SIM on its business accounts:
- Phone SIMs: for handsets, with a mobile number you can keep when you switch
- Data SIMs: for tablets, laptops and mobile broadband devices that only need to get online
- eSIM: a digital SIM built into the device, activated remotely
- IoT SIM card: a rugged SIM for connected equipment in tougher environments
EE Business describes eSIMs as programmed and activated remotely, which makes onboarding new starters and remote staff quicker because nobody has to wait for a SIM in the post. If a device is lost or stolen, the eSIM can be deactivated and a new one set up. One device can hold more than one SIM, so a member of staff can carry their business and personal numbers on one phone, whether you run a bring your own device (BYOD) policy or issue company-owned phones.
More on each: eSIM SIM only, business data only SIM and IoT SIM cards.
Spend caps, Bill Protector and Mobile Manager
Business accounts need controls, and EE Business publishes several:
- Spend caps: limits on data, calls and roaming
- Bill Protector options: on the plans for 11+ employees, Bill Protector All Data sets a limit on the data your team can be charged for, and Bill Protector Roaming Data sets limits on roaming data
- Usage alerts: on the plans for 11+ employees, employees can be alerted when they are close to their limits
- Account management online: EE Business says you can manage your account, monitor usage and set spend and roaming caps, and business customers log in through Mobile Manager
Controls are only useful if someone sets them up and keeps them current as people join and leave. Our guide to fleet SIM cards covers SIM records, joiner and leaver checklists and who should own the account. We can help you decide which caps make sense for each role when we set up your plans.
Is EE Business SIM only the right fit for you?
We will check it against your systems and requirements and recommend the right option.
5G on EE Business plans
5G is available on EE Business plans. To use it, a line needs a 5G-capable device and 5G coverage where that person works; otherwise the phone uses the network's other services as normal.
Check the EE Business coverage checker for your offices, sites and regular routes before you rely on 5G for a particular location. Our guide to 5G SIM only for business explains what to look for. For 5G routers and business broadband, see our sister site for business mobile.
Keeping your number when you move to EE Business
You can bring your existing numbers to EE Business. EE Business's published steps for one number are:
- Request your PAC: text PAC to 65075 from the number you want to keep; your current provider replies by text
- Check the reply: the PAC is valid for 30 days, and the reply must include information about any early termination charges
- Give the PAC to EE Business: when you order your new SIM only plan
- Switch: EE Business says it switches the number to your new EE Business SIM within one working day
If you want a new number instead, text STAC to 75075. If you have several numbers on one account, Ofcom's guidance is to ask your current provider for the codes by phone or on its website. EE Business says that if you give the code before 17:30 on a working day, the number ports on the next working day. See PAC codes and porting multiple mobile numbers. We can coordinate the move with you; the timings are confirmed at quote.
